This is a book of zero waste sewing patterns released in Japan written by Mirai Pattern featuring designers Birgitta Helmersson, Liz Haywood and Danielle Elsener. It features 19 versatile designs including tops, shirts, skirts, pants, dresses and jackets. All patterns are exclusive to the book and are not sold separately elsewhere.
The book is written in Japanese (it is not available in English). With this zero waste method you draw your pattern pieces directly on your fabric with the help of instructions and paper templates. If you are a confident beginner sewer, and up, and have used zero waste patterns before then you should be able to navigate most of the patterns well by following the thorough diagrams and templates.
NOTE ON SIZING: The patterns are suitable for bust 80-98cm and hip 88-104cm and for length references the model used in the book is 162cm tall. As this is designed for the Japanese market the sizing runs on the small side, please see sizing chart image for more measurement details. The lengths on many of the patterns are easy to adjust, many can also be adjusted fairly easily to size up to a larger size in the body.
